Gartner commands top business and technology priority for 2009 is Business Process Improvement
London, January 23, 2009 -- Gartner commands top business and technology priority for 2009 is Business Process Improvement.
Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT), the leading analyst and information technology research company has published the top ten business and technology priorities for 2009.
The business priority "Improving Business Processes" is the top business priority with more than 57% of CIOs reporting this as one of their top five business priorites, this year. Improving Business Processes has been the number one IT business priority since its introduction to the CIO Agenda survey in 2005.
Mark McDonald, group vice president and head of research for Gartner EXP said:
"In 2009, executives face challenging global economic conditions that have not existed for more than 50 years. This environment is reflected in IT budgets, priorities and strategies as one third of CIOs reported no change in their budget from 2008, while 46 percent reported a slight increase, and 21 percent reported a cut in IT budgets."
